The Naga Laut is the surf charter boat behind Mentawai Blue. Lauched in 1999 and continually upgraded over the years, she was designed specifically for comfortable and reliable surf charters throughout the Mentawai Islands. With spacious living areas, comfortable cabins, and plenty of room to relax between surfs, the Naga Laut is your fully air conditioned base while we chase the best waves and conditions the Mentawais have to offer, or sneak away to our less crowded spots.
The Naga Laut gives you the freedom to move with the swell and wind. Rather than being tied to one location, we can travel between different areas of the Mentawai Islands according to the forecast, wind and waves. Our local surf guides know the islands and help you make the most of the conditions each day.
The Naga Laut has five guest cabins: four twin-share cabins and one larger four-bed cabin. The boat can accommodate up to 12 surfers on special request, although we normally operate most comfortably with 10 guests.
All cabins have multiple power outlets, giving you a convenient place to charge phones, cameras and other equipment.
Naga Laut carries two tenders so you can get to the waves quickly and comfortably. Our main tender is a 5.5m aluminium speedboat with a 100hp Suzuki 4 stroke engine, with a smaller 15hp Polycraft available for additional surfing, fishing and shore excursions. Having two tenders gives the crew greater flexibility when conditions change or different groups want to surf different waves.
